GREEN CAMPUS POLICY

PREAMBLE

Environment friendly practices of the Institution are unsurpassable. Crowded with trees and plants, the campus is a real treat to one’s eyes. Celebrating nature’s gift has always been our way of life. The institution works towards responsible living by contributing a little towards what we get in abundance from Mother Nature. Institution spreads its tentacles in developing a green campus and disseminates the eco-friendly culture to the nearby community through various programs and events.

OBJECTIVES

• Extend the green cover inside and outside the campus
• Observe ‘Clean Green Day’
• Make SFRCians’ Eco-sensitive by creating awareness programs and events
• Enlighten the community on the damaging effects of environment exploitation
• Engage in activities to reduce the usage of plastics and other environmental hazards
• Maintaingardens inside the campus through students
• Expand the Herbal Garden to restore  our Ayurvedic wealth
• Harvest rain water efficiently
• Adopt methods for waste segregation.
• Manage, collect and dispose e-waste
• Direct waste collected inside the campus to municipality and other organizations.
• Reuse one side papers to minimize paper usage
• Display waste management, plastic usage and food conservation instruction boards.
• Motivate usage of bicycle, public transport and battery operated vehicle
• Produce organic compost inside the campus

The Institution continues to work keeping in mind the objectives mentioned above through various initiatives to maintain the ‘Green Heaven’
