1. Application software - Set of programs necessary to carry out operations for a specified application. 2. Arithmetic and Logic Unit - Digital circuit that performs arithmetic and logical operations 3. Central Processing Unit - Hardware within a computer that carries out the instructions 4. Control Unit - Direct the computer to carry out stored program instructions 5. File Server - Stores all of the software that controls the network 6. Input - Signals or data received by the system 7. Memory -The working place in computer where all data is stored 8. Network - Two or more computers that are linked in order to share resources 9. Operating System - Program which acts as an interface between a user & the hardware 10. Output - Result of a computer process 11. Primary Memory - Type of primary memory data is not stored permanently 12. Registers - Small amount of storage available as part of a CPU 13. Secondary Memory -The slowest and cheapest form of memory. It cannot be processed directly by the CPU 14. Software - Set of programs that govern the operation of a computer system 15. System software - Computer software designed to operate the computer hardware 16. Workstation - Computers connected to the file server
