HLR

 HOME LOCATION REGISTER -CONTAINS ALL OF THE SUBSCRIBERS DATA AND LOCALIZATION DATA FOR EACH MOBILE STATION(MS)

 

EIR

 EQUIPMENT IDENTITY REGISTER -CONTAINS THE ESSENTIAL DATA THAT IS THE SERIAL NUMBERS OF ALL THE MOBILE STATIONS.

SMSC

 

 SHORT MESSAGING SERVICE CENTER - WHICH NEEDS INFORMATION FROM HLR FOR ROUTING THE SMS.

IMSI

 

International Mobile Subscriber Identity -a permanent ID assigned to each GSM network subscriber

 

 

MSISDN
  • Mobile Station Roaming Number (MSRN), a temporary ISDN number of a subscriber. This number is assigned by the local VLR each time, the subscriber enters its MSC/VLR area. The MSRN is then sent to the HLR and to the GMSC. 

 

LAI

 

Location Area Identity- the ID of the Location Area (LA), in which subscriber is or has been connected to a GSM network.
