principles

Harmony:-
Line:
The design of a flower arrangement depends of its basic lines. The basic lines are circle, the triangle and the rectangle.

Form:

The basic forms are the sphere, the cone and cube. The form of the arrangement depends upon the plant material you are going to use of the container.

Texture:

The surface of plant materials determines their texture, like roses have velvety texture and zinnias have rough texture. There should be unity between plant material container and background.

Colour:

One dominant colour is necessary for emphasis of unity. The analogies colour schemes is best type for flower arrangements complementary colour scheme looks best in large rooms, or in the lights.

Rhythm:

Can be obtained through colour also by planning flowers of same hue together or by graduating from dark to light hues.
Rhythm can be achieved in flower arrangement through line movement. Our arrangement can be either slanting or upright or blossoms may form c or u curves.

Proportion:

The plant material should be one and a half times as high as a tall or cylindrical container. Sometimes, just to dramatise the effect, it can be made even three times higher than the container. But very tall arrangements should be thin at the top.

Balance:

In flower arrangement can be obtained by creating a focal point. This focal point for the sake of stability should be near the centre of the plant material of close to the container.

Unity:
Unity of harmony between the containers of the contents is a must for effective flower arrangement. Rose look good in glass containers.
