Irrespective of the place of entry of pollen tube into the ovule, it invariably enters the embryos sac at the micropylar end. Three modes of pollen tube entry into the embryo sac have been described in the light microscopic studies.

1. Between the egg and one of the synergids.
2. Between the wall of the embryo sac and one of the synergids
3. Directly into one of the synergids.
